THE CONCEPT OF LOVE ĪĪ

LOVE SCRIPTUREFIED.

As Christians, we do not make use of worldly standards to define things. We use the scriptures (which is our God given guide) to give definitions to things.

Love, as we know, is not a secular term. It’s a spiritual word. Love is Christ. Love originated from God. Obviously, it’s God’s own. Therefore, we must define it according to His word.

As I discussed with us in the last blog post, we will be using a chapter in the bible to give detailed explanation on the scriptureficaion of LOVE.

1 Corinthians 13(KJV) says;

1. Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal

– We need to understand that gifts of the spirits are gifts in the end. Gifts do not define who you are. They simply add color to what is existent. No one will possess a gift of the spirit in the grave.

Jesus said that the way the people of this world would see us and know we have seen Him is that we love one to another. It’s not a complex thing. Love defines a Christian, not gifts of the spirit. Highest thing, they will call you Pastor.

If you have all the nine gifts of the spirit and you do not possess love, you’re a noisemaker and a baseless. Love should be the basis of your faith in God that branches into obtaining gifts of the spirit.

Love is a fruit of YOUR spirit, not just the Holy spirit. The Holy Spirit is love personified. Your own spirit has to bear the fruit of love as well. He helps you love but as a branch of Christ, you must bear the same fruit too.

2. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.

– Your are absolutely NOTHING when your life doesn’t emit the enzyme called LOVE! Jesus was the one man that came closest to being like God (tho He is the direct son of God).

However, the bible tells us that ‘as He was, so are we in the world’. We have received Jesus’ love nature. We have received His loving heart. We can and should be exactly like He was, in love and gifting.

Your greatest power in life is not your mantle of the prophetic or your dexterous understanding of mysteries. It’s LOVE. Jesus’ healing was different because He was emotionally attached to the healing.

The bible would always record that He had compassion on whomever He healed. He understood the mysteries of the spirit and had the ability to prophesy. It didn’t hinder His love nature.

Your gifts of the spirit cannot affect your love nature! Love is like a chip inserted in the brain and heart of a genuine believer. By all means, find it and use it. Thee bible made us know His love is shead abroad in our hearts. You have it already!

3. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.

– Giving doesn’t always translate to love. You can be religiously benevolent because your Pastor said God will bless you of you do so. It doesn’t mean you have love.

Of course the popular and award winning John 3:16 tells us that God gave His son as a proof of His love to makind. However, we must note that God is the pioneer of love, the author of love.

It was done from a place of love, not a place of want. Although, the end result of Jesus’ death was buying us back to Him, we were bought back to feel and encounter the love that died for us.

When you give from a point of love, it’s so much different from giving to show off or receive. Make no mistake, love is not defined by what you are giving or your level of giving out.

Yahoo boys give out to their preys before they use them. It doesn’t they love them. Love does not always have to depend on the physical benevolence. That is fickle compared to the depth of love.

In the next blog post, we would examine the other verses.
Good morning & happy new month in advance!🌹
