LOVE SCRIPTUREFINED V
Imagine a world that has no love in it. Imagine a world without Jesus in it. Imagine a world that has no light, positivity. Just darkness and a bleak future.
This is exactly the picture of a loveless society.
For a few weeks now, we’ve been studying the concept of love according to our common sense, ‘the scriptures’. We’ve used a very popular love scripture. 1 Corinthians 13.
We’ve studied the first twelve verses leaving us with one, which I would love us to look at critically as we round up this series.
13. KJV: And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
NLT: There are three things that will endure—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.
– There are three things that can stand the test of time, season and condition. One is faith; the evidence of things not seen, yet, believed in.
Another is hope; the optimism that something would happen. The last one is Love; the commandment of Christ to us.
The bible made us understand that LOVE is the greatest! Using the dictionary, we can discover that the word great means large scale or very good.
Inevitably, the word greatest means the largest and the best!
LOVE is the best!
We’ve been studying love for about two weeks + now. I can fully say that I’ve been immensely taught about the concept of love.
I went into this series by leadings. Trust me, I didn’t expect this kind of revelational encounter!
Love is not that cliché feeling you have in your heart for someone or something. It’s not the tingling sensation in your bosom when you see the opposite sex.
It’s certainly not the help you render to less privileged or needy people. It’s not the continuous desire to see or touch someone or something.
All these things could be thought of as love but it isn’t.
Love is the constant and burning desire to see the subject of your love happy, even at your expense or the person’s expense. Love is the constant longing after the happiness of someone you genuinely care for.
If many people can understand what love is, there would be less wrong marriages and toxic relationships.
True love is based on one principle; SACRIFICE.
St. John 3:16 (KJV) says; “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
God loved us so much that He SACRIFICED His only begotten son to gain more children.
Meaning love is like a business! You trade what you think is precious just so that others would gain more joy, which would in turn give you joy.
If you love someone, you would be able to let go, regardless of the circumstances, to gain things that would help that person be better. ‘Cause in the end, the better or happier life of that person would bring joy to you.
Love sometimes warrants that you take some insults, pain in the chest, deep hurt, condone some excesses, scold against your will and so many more.
But in the end, it’s for the latter good of your beloved.
Let love lead.
Let love drive.
Let love exist forever!
Amen!
Ending this series is breathtakingly amazing. Do leave reviews on what you’ve learnt.
I’ll be treating the subject of love languages in the next blog post. Do stay tuned.⚡
Happy Sunday!🌹
