LIVING RIGHT IN THIS GENERATION ĪĪĪ
In our last blog post, we addressed one of the many ways young people can live right in the midst of the evil of this world.
We talked about the principle of righteousness and how important it is to relating with God.
Our take home points were;
1. The spirit is the most important part of a man.
2. It might not seem relevant but it’s immensely important to develop the spirit.
3. Christ shines His light through us.
Today, we’ll be looking at another way of living right as I round up this series.
2. PEACE.
Hebrews 12:14 says; “Follow peace with all men and holiness without which, no man can see God.”(KJV)
Last week, we talked about righteousness. I remember saying that righteousness means being right with God.
Another way of being right with God is through keeping peace with all men. Peace never kills anyone. Peace is like a balm to the soul.
The world would be an easier place to live in if the principle of peace thrives. The world today lies in ruins and chaos because neither sides of the coin decides to hold peace.
It says here to follow peace with every man. Not a set. People tend to keep peace with people who they can benefit from. If you’re irrelevant to their life, the level of patience they will have with you to keep the peace would be minimal.
Men honor money, position and influence over the word of God, in this generation, which is not supposed to be so. The word of God is our common sense. Anything absent from the word of God is false.
Peace means the absence of violence or strife. It means the presence of tranquility and harmony. Peace means absolute calm.
Keeping peace with all men means to do anything scripturally possible to allow peace reign. Keeping peace means to make sacrifices for the sake of God.
As humans, we possess a natural sense of pride. We always demand respect and honor. We forget that this world doesn’t know us because they do not know Christ.
Despite their ignorance of the truth, we must make an effort to keep the peace, even at the expense of our ‘rights’.
Sometimes, we need to ask for forgiveness when we’re not sorry just to let peace reign. Sometimes, we have to take the blame just so that peace would reign.
It doesn’t have to be easy or sweet. However, we have been charged to do so. We do this so that the root of bitterness would not be found in anyone because of us.
It would be worse if because of your selfish pride, someone possesses a bitter heart. Although that person might be in the wrong, keeping peace demands that you prevent the person from hurting his own self by being bitter.
The said person might not be in Christ. Such a person cannot keep the nature of peace. You being the believer, should uphold the commandment of peace.
It’s not easy but help is made available.
Thank you for reading through.
I trust you were blessed.
Have a blissful Sunday service.🌹
