PRINCIPLES OF FAITH
Faith has been a necessity in the journey and life of believers. A believer without faith isn’t one because faith is the basis of his belief.
Faith is the confident assurance that what we hope for is going to happen. It is the evidence of things we cannot yet see.(Hebrews 11:1 NLT).
This makes us understand that faith is based on the unseen things. Faith is based on things ‘hoped for’. It’s not expected to have a physical proof. If faith has a physical proof, then it’s not faith anymore.
The King James Version let’s us in on a secret;
Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
For something that doesn’t have a physical proof, it demand an evidence. Not just aan evidence but a tangible one, substance. From what I can tell, substance is the most important part of a thing.
So, the substance called Faith is the most important part of anything you wish to see come to reality. The reality of that thing is not the most important but the faith used in getting that thing.
Faith has the ability to make you believe in something and even produce an evidence out of nothing that would, in the long run, bring that thing to reality.
But what is the evidence?
Your way of handling the absence of that thing!
For instance, a boy who is going to school needs to buy boxes, shoes, clothes and books, right? Lo and behold, there is no money for that. In the natural sense, the boy is expected to be worried and probably crying because the resumption day is drawing nigh.
If that boy maintains a calm because he has faith that God is working on his Favour, he has just produced the substance of Faith, the most essential part.
God is not slack in His promises towards His children. He knows exactly what He’s doing. But sometimes, He allows us go through hardships that would help you grow in faith and rely more on Him.
If things are all rosy and beautiful, trust me, you would never have a need to grow in faith.
Another reason why God really allows us grow in faith though various hard means is so that we would depend solely on Him. Faith is 100% dependence on God. Not your abilities or men but Him alone.
He wants us to know that HE is the only one we need in life. He wants us to understand that everything is temporal and only Him remains forever. We cannot learn all this by Him telling us.
When He tells us, we have the knowledge of it. When He shows us, we gain the understanding of it. And when we apply it, we exhibit the wisdom in it.
Christ also had to learn obedience through His experiences on earth. Many people believe that Jesus was a supernatural force that came to earth and halted everything.
Yes, He’s the son of God but upon coming to earth, He came as a man with nothing but love. He came supernaturally because God didn’t want His DNA to be corrupted as that of men.
After His birth, He was like very other boy except that He understood that He had a purpose. Walking with God, He learnt more by obeying God and His commands. That’s was why Jesus could do all he did.
He learnt obedience.
And guess what? When you receive Him, you become exactly like Him. The reason why we still have Christians swimming in sin is because they do not understand their position and salvation in Christ.
The sinful nature of man and temptation is the least of the problem when it comes to living holy. If you have a great understanding of who you are in God, even the sinful nature cannot stop you from being a victor.
All this balls down to how much faith you have. If you have enough faith in God, nothing shall be impossible to you.

Till I come your way again, think on these words. Shalom!
