THE MYSTERY OF CHRISTIANITY; LOVE!

THE MYSTERY OF CHRISTIANITY: LOVE

Christianity has existed for many years. During these years, there were points of great decline. God, in His infinite mercies, raised up men like John and Charles Westly, Katherine Khulman and many more.

We all know that they were men of God’s might and power. The wrought so many signs and wonders in their time. They were men who the devil ran at the hearing of their names. They were bold and powerful people for God.

However, God didn’t use them powerfully because they could do signs and wonders. All children of God can do signs and wonders using the name of Jesus to issue commands to infirmities and sicknesses.

Even the devil does signs and wonders. That is why evil men stick to diviners and evil doers. They get all the miracles and testimonies they want at a price. Despite the signs from Jesus being free, they ignorantly stick to foolish means.

However, signs and wonders are an accompaniment of your belief in Christ Jesus. St. Mark 16:17-18 says; “And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”(KJV)

Gifts of the spirit are just gifts. They do not validate you as a child of God. A man who was once a pastor and turned to a ‘babalawo’ can still be able to speak in tongues. Even the devil manufactures fake tongues.

Thinking on all of this, you might be confused as to what love really means. Love, over time, has been mistaken for so many things. Love has been mistaken for pity, lust, concern and many more. This has placed people in ugly relationships.

    I will be telling us three things;
1. Love SACRIFICES.

St. John 15:13 says; “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”(KJV)

Love is one thing that knows well how to sacrifice. If you say you love me and you cannot sacrifice an earthly pleasure for me, then your love is false. Jesus said if you love me, do my will. Love obeys.

Love knows how to sacrifice wella! Love is one thing that makes you wake up at 12am to speak to your lover. Love is the thing that makes you look mad on the road because you are speaking to the Holy Spirit.

St. Mark 12:31 says; “And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.”(KJV)

The first commandment in the new testament is to love the Lord with all of your being. The second one is to love your neighbor as yourself. The bible places you last on the love tree. You are last because you receive the dividend of love.

You give out love but when it blossoms, it falls back down on you. With this knowledge, you sacrifice any and everything for the ones at the top because you know their happiness will be yours too.

2. Love Is ‘ INSPITE OF ‘

Romans 5:8 says; “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”(KJV)

Christ didn’t look at our sins. He loves us with an everlasting love. He didn’t look at the fact that were neck deep in sins. He cherished us all the same. Of you were Christ, will you do the same?

This is a lesson. Love is not ‘because of’. Love is ‘irrespective of’. Love is not ‘I like her for that but I don’t like this’. Love is ‘I love it all, bad or good’. Love doesn’t select. Love takes it all.

No one is perfect, we are working towards perfection in Christ. “Herein in His love are we made perfect”. Perfection os found in the love of Christ. We do not love because we can, the flesh cannot love. We love because Christ commanded it of us.

Love does not look for reason to hate. Love accepts what he sees while trying to make you better. Maybe you see faults in a brother or sister, love is the only remedy to such problem. No one is ever changed by judgment or hate, love changes men.

3. Love COMPLETES.

Colossians 3:14 says; “And above all these [put on] love and enfold yourselves with the bond of perfectness [which binds everything together completely in ideal harmony].”(AMP)

In as much as we are sons and we are powerful and all, let’s not forget the trials and temptation that come our way in our daily lives. The devil doesn’t give us any rest or sleep! He troubles our Israel till be finds a loophole to penetrate(which he will never in Jesus Name! Amen!)

The bible tells us to put on the whole armor of God to be able to stand against the devil. However, as the times go by, we get weary. (Isaiah 40:31) One thing I’ve noticed is that love makes it all worth it!

We can put in the armour and have all the spiritual gifts possible, if we do not possess love, we would be weary and faint. It’s not a curse, please. This is reality.

That’s why the bible tells ha to week after love in all things. Love is the salt to your dish. Love is the cherry and sprinkles on top of your ice cream. Love is the fire in your bones in times of weakness.

Love is what makes you see a brother who hates you as God’s own. Love is what makes you happy in times of trouble. Love produces peace, joy and many more. Love is the factory of a Christian’s life.

    What then is love?

Love is the ability to see men as God sees them, gems.

    Happy Valentine’s day!
Spread the message of love abroad!
