VOICES!

VOICES!

Undoubtedly, there are voices in the spiritual realm. The Holy Spirit’s voice isn’t the only existing voice.

1 Corinthians 10:20 says; “But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils.”(KJV)

The verse above explains that every voice possesses a message; good or evil. For every sound you hear in the spirit, there is a purpose. In the spirit, nothing is said for ‘just saying’ sake. The source of the voice will determine the nature of it’s message.

First, let’s get to know the existing voices and their source.

TYPES OF VOICES.

1. The Voice Of The Flesh.

A man was in a 3-days fast, seeking the face of God. Day one went by smoothly. By the second day, his body started to show signs of hunger. He then heard a voice telling him to eat. The voice further encouraged him by saying he had done well.

He though it was the voice of God. He yielded the voice and happily devoured a plate of Akpu and Onubu soup (cassava swallow and bitter leaf soup). After he has satisfied his belly, he hears another voice that told him how foolish he was to have listened to the voice of the flesh.

You might think it’s the voice of the devil. The voice of the flesh is what propels you to sin. The flesh enjoys sin. Therefore, his voice will minister sin to you.

2. The Voice Of The Mind.

Romans 12:2 say; “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”(KJV)

In my understanding, “do not be in obedience to the flesh but be empowered by the feeding of your mind: only then can we prove God’s will to perfection. “

If your mind wasn’t relevant, God wouldn’t have instructed you to renew it. God is not talkertive. God does nit speak all the time. Which is one of the reasons why He gave us His word, the scriptures, to guide.

St. John 1:1 says; “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”(KJV)

This establishes the fact that God is in His word. In fact, He is the word. Therefore, we are expected to trap his words within our hearts. That way, you are guided by the words inscribed on the tablets of our heart.

3. The Voice Of God.

This is one of the most beautiful things about the life of Christ; the fact that you can hear Him! God is not loud. Neither is He talkertive. The voice of the Holy Spirit is His voice too; they are one.

God speaks in five major ways:

* Occurrences: A scenario can play out that would minister greatly to your soul. A person can come to you to ‘rant’ but all his words just answer all of your questions. It’s God; not the vessel(s).

* Impressions: Sometimes, we feel a stirring in our spirit to do some things. We cannot place a voive telling us anything but we just feel strongly about such thing. Gid has whispered into our soul in a way that cannot be encoded by words. We call it leading or burden(s).

* Thoughts: Sometimes, we have thoughts that we cannot trace in our minds. These thoughts bring light to dark paths. It often sounds like your voice in your head but not within your mental comprehension. It’s the most common mode of speaking employed by God.

* A Still Voice: This a not-so-common mode of communication. This voice is calm and not persuasive. It’s a tiny voice that ministers to your heart.

* Revelations: Dreams, visions and trances are one of the many ways God speaks to His children. This is a very common method to believers.

Note: So many expect God’s voice to be loud and overwhelming. They forget that He’s a loving father that never imposes anything on you. God’s voice is peaceful and loving, as He is. He’s ever speaking. You just need a sober and calm spirit to hear Him.

4. The Voice Of The Devil.

A wrong notion people have is that the devil doesn’t speak to God’s children. This is false. The devil is always whispering into the ears of God’s children to make them sway emotionally, mentally and spiritually so that he can strike.

The voice of the enemy is one that seeks to bring you down. It’s the voice that compels you to do the unimaginable. It speaks pain, worry, anxiety and much more into your soul.

The good news is that the more you listen to Gos, the leas you will hear him. The more you think happy thoughts, the less you will hear his depressing voice.

It is essential that we take heed to the right voices. The voice you listen to will determine your destination in life. You cannot listen to a negative voice and expect positivity.

God’s voice speaks peace, joy and hope into your soul. The voice of the devil speaks destruction, bitterness, pain and much more into your soul.

What voice do you heed to?
    Have a great weekend!
