THE BONDAGE OF SIN!
In our last blog post, we talked about witnessing Christ. We exemplified how different Jesus was from all other bible characters.
We also mentioned two impediments to witnessing Christ. Although there are many others, we will be taking just these two;
1. THE BONDAGE OF SIN.
St. John 8:44 says;
“Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.”(KJV)
This verse speaks volume.
If we are to trace the History of sin, we can all agree that sin started in the Heavens from Lucifer. His sin was pride. From there, he was thrown down to the earth.
Revelation 12:12 says;
“Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.”(KJV)
The verse above justifies my claim of the devil being thrown to earth. However, he didn’t just come here to sleep. He came here to share his venom is sin. And he found a worthy vessel in Eve.
Through Adam and Eve, the venom of sin spread to mankind.
One notable thing is that sin would never have gotten to man if not for disobedience. Disobedience created a loophole for sin to seep into mankind.
Disobedience renders God handicapped in any situation you are in. He gave a clear instruction. Still, you did not yield. There’s nothing more he can do for us.
He can only save us from the impending doom of death(the repercussion of sin). He cannot force us to obey Him. He never forces anything on you or anyone. He speaks and expects obedience.
After the devil had gifted us a dark package of sin, he became the father of it. Anyone associated to sin is associated to him. Sin isn’t always influenced by him.
Some sins are temptations from our fleshy lusts. When yielded, produces sin. Some sins are provoked by spirits living inside a body.
Sin keeps you in a cage, a bondage. It doesn’t let you explore the world God has given to us as gifts. Sin would keep you tied to whatever it is until it becomes an addiction.
Sin would turn you to a lizard when you should be the lion in the jungle. Sin would make you a shadow of God’s sketches for your life. Sin would make you smell fowl in the spirit.
The bondage of sin is one that is the most disastrous. Sin exists in the kingdom of darkness. It leands unfailingly to death. There is a remedy tho.
2 Corinthians 5:17 says;
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”(KJV)
Accepting Christ automatically moves you out of the vondage of sin. You are not longer enslaved by sin. You have the willingness to decide for yourself whether or not to sin.
When under the bondage of sin, you believe you have no choice but to sin. You feel sin is the only way.
But when you are born into the kingdom of Christ, you are no longer forced to sin by your ignorance. You suddenly come to the understanding of your sinless nature, the nature to Christ.
Colossians 1:12&13 says;
“Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:”(KJV)
We are translated to the position of light. We are no longer enslaved to sin. We are free from the cage that sin put us, the of ignorance.
Sin thrives on your ignorant of your sinless nature in Christ. Once you are conscious of it, you begin to walk in that understanding of light and sinlessness.
Hallelujah!
Accept Jesus today by saying these words;
Lord Jesus, I know you died for me. I know I am not meant to be a slave to anyone because you have set me free from sin. Therefore Lord, j accept you as my Lord and savior. Come into my heart and teach me to live like you did. That k you Jesus for your sacrifices.
In Jesus’ name.
Amen!
If you said that prayer, I congratulate you because you are now light!
Hallelujah!
