JESUS AROSE!
I was listening to Apostle Joshua Selman a few weeks ago and he made a statement that struck a d in my heart. Somehow, I’ve never gotten over those words.
I’ll explain in the next few paragraphs.
You know many people who are depressed are simply living in the jacket of yesterday. They dwell and think on their sins and do not look at the message of the cross for them. They never let the light of the cross shine in their hearts.
The cross is a message to the body of Christ and even sinners at large.
The cross teaches four major things;
1. The love of Christ.
2. The obedience of Christ to the Father’s will against His.
3. Freedom from everything called the past.
4. Dominion over every force in the name of Jesus.
I know we all know this but the impact of these words are lacking in our daily lives. We tend to slip into depression or extreme sadness when we think of our shortcomings and sins.
We forget that a price has been paid for it even before we were born.
Let me share a mystery with us.
Jesus is omniscient, right?
Meaning He knows exactly what sins you would commit upon coming to earth. He knew exactly how you would steal that meat and how you will battle masturbation.
The script is in His hands and somehow, He’s hoping that you find Him and make it all beautiful in the end.
So why condemn yourself?
Jesus didn’t condemn you at all. He knows what sins you would commit even while He was on the cross and your ancestors have not even been conceived, He knew what you would look like.
To assure your soul of salvation, He came and died for your sins. He paid the price for your sins even before you were conceived. You didn’t have to ask Him, He knew what you would need at that point.
Many people make the excuse of ‘I’ve gone too far in this sin. It’s now like my life’. I bring you good news today.
In Selman’s words “Jesus died on the cross and rose on the third day. He bore your sins and breadth left Him. He was emptied of what a man would be used to qualify as a living man.
If He didn’t resurrect, He would have been a failure. But He did. He rose up in victory over sin and death that He was bound to in the grave.
So, what’s your sin? What excuse is the devil giving you this time? If Jesus can arise from the sin of the world, what sin can’t you arise from?”
I ask again, “If Jesus can arise after bearing the sin of the world on His shoulders for you to be free, what sin can’t you get up from and live in that freedom He bought for you?”
The devil will give a million words essay on why you can’t arise and be who God has deigned. But He cannot contest one fact.
THE DEATH OF JESUS ON THE CROSS!
Even the devil knows the power that the cross carries.
So, no matter what the situation is, Jesus arose. That’s all that matters, that’s all that counts. Jesus arose for me, for you. Jesus paid the price for your sins, for my sins. Jesus already bought you back even before you got sold.
What manner is love is this?
That a man who has foreseen the doom to befall earth will go as a living sacrifice, bear the sins of the world and the generation to come and die with them on a rickety cross.
Only to awake three days later, buying you victory over all of them, even before you came into existence. And even before you thought of committing such a sin, He has already paid the price for you.
It’s just like saying you went to a supermarket to steal and before you even thought of going there, someone had come to pay for all the goods you will steal. Though they will accuse you to stealing even when they know someone paid for it, the payment of the benevolent man stands.
Only when you accept His price will you be free.
Will you accept and allow Jesus’ blood wash you? This is a blood that never runs dry. A blood that is ever potent. Will you wash your dirty and stained garment of glory with His blood.
Will you take off the garment on shame and sin and put on the garment of righteousness? If you would, say the short prayer below;
Father, I thank you for preserving my life even in my sin. I have come to the knowledge of your great love for me and I have accepted you as Lord and Savior. Help me be your friend and know you more daily. Thank you, Jesus.
If you have said this prayer, I congratulate you, you are now a friend and a sibling of Jesus Christ. Do reach out to is via the contact below on WhatsApp for counselling and encouragement (09162193447).
