Ignorance, Knowledge And Wisdom

Ignorance, they say, is a disease. This fact has been proven so many times. It’s rather unfortunate that after this common knowledge, people still live in ignorance. Before we begin, let’s find out what ignorance really means.

Ignorance is the condition of being uninformed or uneducated about a particular subject matter. Ignorance means to lack an armory of knowledge or information needed for a particular assignment. Ignorance also means to be oblivious of an advantage or a great blessing that is necessary to elevate you. Ignorance means to choose simple mindedness over wisdom.

Ignorance means to be blinded to the truth. Ignorance means to be unaware of a gold mine. Ignorance means a state of being clueless. Ignorance means to live like an ignoramus. Ignorance means to lack sufficient information. Ignorance means to live like a fool.

Evidently, ignorance is extremely painful and pitiful. No one wants to live in ignorance. Unfortunately, people refuse to make the sacrifices that would eradicate ignorance. 2 Corinthians 2:11 says, “Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.”(KJV)

Fortunately, curing ignorance is not so hard. All you need is the inclusion of new a material. It’s something the deil is scared of; KNOWLEDGE.

Knowledge is simply the absence of ignorance. Knowledge is the information, understanding and skill gained through different medium. Knowledge is about knowing about a particular fact or situation. Knowledge is the general familiarity with a subject matter, place of thing.

Knowledge is the state of being armed with intellectual understanding. Knowledge is the state of appreciating truth or valuable information. Knowledge is justified true belief. Knowledge is acknowledgment, notice, awareness and deep familiarity with or about something.

Knowledge is a very desirable skill that every man requires to be successful in life. Without knowledge, you’ll turn out to be a laughing stock. Fortunately, knowledge is something that can be gained through a process called learning.

Learning is the process of acquiring knowledge or the ability to do something. Learning is the art of being informed about something. Learning is the process of being a student, in order to gain knowledge for a particular purpose.

Learning is a life-long project. He who fails to learn, learns to fail. The absence of learning brings ignorance. The end product of ignorance is failure. Failure in turn leads to other severe problems.

Also, in the process of being successful, gaining knowledge is not the last bus stop. A person can gain knowledge and still be ignorant. A person can be knowledgeable and still live like a fool. It’s not because they didn’t learn well. It’s because he or she didn’t apply what he has learnt. The application of knowledge is wisdom.

Wisdom is the ability to make sensible decisions and give good advice because of the experience and knowledge that you have. Wisdom is the quality of your actions, reaction as well as advice shown or given to people. Wisdom is the totality of knowledge gained over time. Wisdom is how sensible you are.

Wisdom is the quality of being reasonable. Wisdom is the element of personal character that enable you to distinguish the wise from the unwise. Wisdom is the ability to apply knowledge in an insightful way especially to different situations from which the knowledge is gained.

Above all, knowledge is the ability to know spiritual truths. This is the purpose of this write up. Spirituality is the key to perfect greatness. True wisdom is only found in things of the spirit. Genuine wisdom is measured by your level of spirituality. A wholly spiritual man is a wise man.

Joshua 1:8 says, “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”(KJV)

Psalms 119:105 also says, “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.'(KJV)

These two verses reveal to us that the word of God is a book of immense wisdom. God instructed in Joshua 1:8 that we keep the bible close. Not just because it will guarantee greatness but because it will certainly guide to success; good success at that. Good success can only be produced by a wise mind. A wise mind is a mind that is fed with the word of wisdom daily, the scriptures.

True and genuine wisdom isn’t hidden. Proverbs 1:20 says, “Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets:”(KJV). Wisdom make itself ubiquitous. Unfortunately, people enjoy their mind of simpleness. Proverbs 1:22 says so; “How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?”(KJV)

Taking the life of our Lord Jesus as a model, you can attest to the fact that he is a great man. Having studied his life for a while, I noticed two things about him;

1. He Was Always Led By The Spirit.
St. Luke 4:1 is a great example; “And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness,”(KJV).

There are other examples scattered all over the bible. This proves that the spirit of God, The Holy spirit, is another epitome of wisdom. The Holy Spirit is wisdom personified. Wisdom is found in him.

Romans 8:14 says, “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.”(KJV). Jesus is the son of God. Consequently, he was always led by the spirit. Therefore, if we are led by the spirit, we can also be identified as sons. And sons are heirs to the father’s wealth; wisdom included. Therefore, gaining sonship connotes a bequeath of wisdom.

2. He Always Quoted The Scriptures.
In Luke 4:1-13 when Jesus was tempted, he used the scriptures to defeat the enemy. He was able to prove his sonship by using the scriptures from his archive. The scriptures, as I’ve said before , is of God and possesses immense power. This wisdom is our arsenal against ignorance. As well as the fiery darts of the enemy.

A man with no wisdom is a man of foolishness, ignorance and failure.
