God And Man VĪ!
For the last couple of weeks, we have been discussing the God and man relationship. Finally, we have come to the last edition of this series. In this last edition, we will be talking about something very crucial to maintaining a relationship with God. That thing is called ‘The Mind Of God’.
Philippians 2:5 says; “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:” (KJV).
The mind of God is a functionality of the new life we obtained by faith in Christ Jesus. It is a bequeath of any convenanted son of God. It is expected as a new creature to begin to express the mind of God.
2 Corinthians 5:17 says; “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” (KJV).
We become brand new. Therefore, it is expected of us to begin to mirror Christ. However, the mind of Christ doesn’t come instantly. It is expected to be cultivated. I’ll be taking you on a journey towards wisdom.
How To Have The Mind Of God!
1. New Birth.
You can never call forth something that’s under a convenant you are not under. The mind of God is OF God. Therefore, you have to be saved by God and become OF God to be a partaker of the convenant.
Romans 10:9 says; “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” (KJV)
At new birth, two things are birthed; a new faith and a new spirit. The mind remains crude and unchanged. Your spirit is renewed and you are suddenly awakened to the reality of the spirit an your new nature. Your thinking will no longer be the same as an average man because you have entered something higher than normal.
Hebrews 11:1 says; “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” (KJV).
Faith is a currency of the spirit. Faith is as alive as a believer as a human is. Faith is living an illusion. Faith is holding onto something that isn’t physically present. Faith is blind hope.
Romans 8:24 says; “For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?” (KJV).
Hebrews 11:6 says something profound; “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” (KJV)
In this christain journey, faith is compulsory. Without faith, you can’t even be saved. To develop the mind of God, you must first of all have faith in what the scriptures says. How can you develop faith?
Romans 10:17/says; “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” (KJV). Jude 1:20 says; “But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,” (KJV).
3. The Scriptures And Prayer!
Psalms 119:105 says; “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” (KJV). Light means an exposure to a truth. When light comes into a room, you begin to find all the dirt and throw them out. In darkness, this would be impossible.
The entrance of the word of God gives an exposition to your realities in Christ Jesus and the faults in your person. Prayer being a communication with God, gives an avenue to have deeper understanding of the scriptures. It allows you access to the thoughts and intents of God’s heart.
1 Thessalonians 5:17 says; “Pray without ceasing.” (KJV). This makes us understand that the power of prayer is needed in controlling our flesh and daily activities.
4. The Pleadings Of The Holy Ghost!
Romans 8:14 says; “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.” (KJV). The spirit of God is a guide unto all saints. He is the first gift of God to every believer. Without Him, the body of Christ is incomplete.
Being led means to be behind. Thus, you are o my following. You do not have any objections with the directions of His leadings. You just follow blindly because of faith. When you are being led by the spirit of God, you find yourself operating in the arena of the kind of God by default because the spirit of God expresses the mind of God.
The mind of God is a mind of all possibilities. It is a kind filled with the Holy Ghost. It is filled with love, purity, faith, hunger for God and many more good virtues. It reflects the scriptural description of a Christian. Do you possess and make use of the mind of God?
Happy Sunday and a happy new week to you!
