God And Man īV

God And Man Īv.

In continuation with our series, we’ll be talking about God and man. We would be examining the God and Man relationship and it’s effects on mankind.

A characteristic of God that we have is the Life Of God. In other words, we are dead men. We do not live for ourselves anymore but for our master. We are dead to anything called ‘self’. Dead, though sound scary, fits perfectly the situation we are in.

Galatians 2:20 says; “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”(KJV)

It’s such a profound verse! This life we live in the flesh is a sold out life. All Glory to Jesus! Though the flesh is active, we have victory over it because we are dead. Dead men do not fight battles by themselves because their fate is already decided.

Note: We aren’t like the typical or secular kind of dead man. We are dead in the light and reality of Christ Jesus. As long as Jesus lives, we are dead.

1. Dead Man Are Weird!

Let me share a few characteristics of a dead man with you. This would open your eyes to your reality in Christ Jesus.

Let’s take a typical dead man as an example. His physical senses are shut down. He has absolutely no control over his life and movements anymore. It’s like a switch has been turned off in his head such that his physical body is there but he’s long gone.

The reality of life is in the spirit. That’s where a Son lives. Though he’s physically present, he isn’t ruled by the physical. He has the understanding that the physical is influenced by the spiritual. Such that he begins to walk in that light and chases after spiritual things.

Romans 8:14 says; “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.”(KJV).

This is why a spiritual man can see things before they happen. They are not like the normal or natural man who depend on the physical to cause changes. A dead man goes into the spiritual, shift things, comes back into the natural and witnesses the manifestation by faith.

Ordinary men cannot understand this because their understanding is small. By the means of our spiritual presence, our understanding is wider than the scope of the physical. We see, think, perceive and act differently from the natural man. We are so different that we are given names like Mummy G. O., SU (an acronym for a popular bible and prayer group in the 80’s known as Scripture Union), Pastor to name but a few.

2. Dead Men Have A Different Operating System!

Romans 8:11 says something profound; “But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.”(KJV)

Many sons of God have been asked different questions; “How can you fast for so long? What’s fun about reading the scriptures? Why would anyone want to pray for so long and even speak in tongues?? Are you a witch? How did you know this about me?”. The list is endless, trust me. The truth is, their modus operandi is so fickle and different.

The Holy Ghost is the operating system of a dead man. He is no longer driven by the weights of the flesh. Scripture says that he has been empowered by the spirit to give life and strength to the fragile body for tasks of the spirit. Dead to works by the spirit. No longer living by the flesh but the SPIRIT.

3. Dead Men Are Men Of Faith!

Let’s take a look at what faith is. Hebrews 11:1says; “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”(KJV)

Everything about a dead man’s life is faith. Talk about salvation, faith is primary. Romans 10:9&10 says; “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”(KJV)

Working miracles? St. Matthew 17:20 says; “And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.”(KJV)

The emphasis on faith is because faith is an access card into the corridors of the spirit. Hebrews 11:6 says; “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”(KJV)

Faith or hope is something that is beyond sight. Romans 8:24 says that “For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?”(KJV)

Faith is something that a natural man cannot have. Why? Because he’s focused on the physical. A spiritual man understands that the physical is influenced by the spiritual. Therefore, focusing on the physical is dangerously stupid. Faith is living an illusion. It is believing something to get something.

4. Finally, A Dead Man Not Affected By Things.

St. Matthew 5:39 says; “But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.”(KJV)

According to the dictates of the flesh, man would react as circumstances dictate. Naturally, man should hit in return when hit. But when talking about spiritual beings, it’s different.

A spiritual man wouldn’t hit in return. His senses are programmed to absorb hurt and pain. Why? He has a comforter. He doesn’t seek comfort from hitting in return. Yes, people who hit in return are natural and weak. This is because emotional pain is the worst form of pain. Not being able to withstand it is a sign of weakness.

A spiritual man isn’t affected by fame. He doesn’t even pursue fame. Why? He’s living his life for someone else. He works by the dictates of He who owns it, not by his own will.

In this abnormal world, being normal is disastrous. In this spiritual world, being natural is painful. In this world that needs wisdom from on high, being spiritually ignorant is harmful. Every man or woman should take up his cross, crucify his flesh with Christ and live freely. Free of pain and worry because you know your owner’s got you.

We are dead men seeking for others to come and die with us. Are you dead? Intending to die? Or still contemplating? Come now! Jesus wants to carry your load for you. You think you can do it with the flesh but you can’t. You need spiritual help that only Christ offers.

    Give your life to Jesus!
